Balanced Dividends Blogroll Spotlight #2: Four Pillar Freedom

I first came across the concept of a blogroll several months ago. But I didn’t create or publish the Balanced Dividends Blogroll until a couple of months afterward. (Looking back, I have no idea why I didn’t do it sooner!)

There are many great sites within the personal finance / investing arena. Some focus on F.I.R.E. and extreme frugality, while others focus on advanced trading or investing strategies. If you’re looking for a niche or specific topic, it’s likely there is great content out there. It’s just about finding it – hence the appeal of a blogroll (or a massive, kick-ass directory like Rockstar Finance).

As mentioned on the Balanced Dividends Blogroll, I peruse these sites regularly for good content, perspectives, and ideas. The list is growing, as I find myself reading and learning more each week. I do read and visit many other sites, but these are the first that I review each day in my feed for new and insightful posts.

Balanced Dividends Spotlight #2: Four Pillar Freedom

Following our inaugural series post, I wanted to highlight a site where I first came across three things:

  1. A site where I actual thought the site owner never sleeps based on the number AND quality of posts;
  2. An amazing collection of interactive graphics & charts; and,
  3. Someone who really, really likes Chipotle.

You’ll find these and many other valuable things from Zach over at Four Pillar Freedom.

Why Do I Keep Going Back To Four Pillar Freedom?

Aside from Zach’s dedication and committment to Chipotle, Zach is also extremely active within the personal finance / FIRE community (among others). In fact, I think he is the most active I’ve seen in terms of content on his own respective site; I sometimes receive notices for 2 posts a day! But every post brings something interesting and unique.

If you’re familiar with Zach’s site, you know I have to mention Zach’s Visuals:

  • Interactive Visualizations;
  • Interactive Calculators; and (of course!),
  • Financial Grids.

All the items are very helpful, but I find the Financial Grids especially interesting. Overall, Zach’s content is clean and effective. The signature Sunday Is For Sharing series also show’s Zach’s commitment to community; he shares knowledge and ideas across a number of platforms.

Wrapping It Up

Have you visited Four Pillar Freedom before? If not, why are you still here? I highly recommend you checkout Zach’s site.

Readers, are there any other sites you’d recommend? Where do you find yourself spending your time? What have you done to progress your goals today?

  1. My bad. I was not aware of Zach’s site. Seems like the hardest working man in the blog business. Just checked the archives and see he has been going at it for almost 2 years. Very impressive. Will have to spend a little more time there. Thanks for highlighting Mike. Tom

    1. No worries, Tom! 🙂 Check out the Visuals page at the top of the site… A ton of great stuff. – Mike

      1. I’ve spent a little more time on Zach’s site since my last comment. I’m totally impressed. You know I spend a lot of time on blogs and most are okay, but more volume than quality. I didn’t sense any ego, which I hate. He’s got something going there. It’s different. Can’t quite put my figure on it. Will follow and observe (if I can keep up with him). Wish I was that good. Don’t know how DD was your first blogroll spot light with that sort of competition. Just want to say thanks again. Tom

        1. Good points, Tom.

          Regarding the inaugural post, I decided to highlight DD first because I remember the day I added your site to my WordPress feed. I’d seen a bunch of your comments on a few other dividend sites and noticed a pattern over a few weeks. I’d seen your thorough and thoughtful comments multiple times.

          I can’t remember the post, but I remember commenting on something similar on your site. – Mike
